With ship "Thuringia" Catharina MARIA Dorothea Wiedow arrived inNew York on Nov. 29th, 1871.
She was born in 1855 as illegal daughter of
Catharina Elisabeth Dorothea Hanna Wiedow aus Leussow and of journeyman baker Heinrich Zülow from Dömitz. Maria's mother died three months after her birth. The little girl probably lived with her grandparents until they died. Maria was then eight years old. Maybe she lived with an uncle or an aunt until she was old enough to work as a farmmaid.
