Timmermann of Leussow

Indeed Joachim Timmermann was born in Grebs, but because he married in Leussow a woman of Leussow I put the family to the Leussow list of emigrants.

The family

JOACHIM Heinrich Christian Timmermann
b. 1853 in Grebs near Conow (son of Einwohner Johann Joachim Erdmann Christian Timmermann and his wife Catharina Elisabeth Henriette Lammert, Grebs)
marr. 1882 in Leussow
MARIA Catharina Elisabeth Reimer
b. 1857 in Leussow (daughter of Hauswirt farmer Johann JOACHIM Hinrich Christian Reimer and his first wife Anna Catharina Maria Elisabeth Gauerke, Leussow, farm # 7)

In the marriage records we can read: "Einige Tage nach der Trauung reisten die jungen Eheleute nach Nord-Amerika, ihrer neuen Heimat" (The young couple travelled a few days after the wedding to North America, their new home)

The young couple was in companion of a group of emigrants from the region : the Wahler family, the old Haeusler farmer Johann Scheper and probably a cousin of the young man, Johann Timmermann. They reached New York with ship "Wieland" on July 26th, 1882.
