"...for this bygone life has a right to be saved from being completely forgotten.
Why? Because it was the preparation for our own life. Because we owe to it all necessary experience, including the most stunning one: transience.
For the grieving about a lost time there is only one cure: give it some meaning..."

from Siegfried Lenz, "Heimatmuseum"

Family research has been my hobby since my schooldays. Over a period of 25 years much material has been gathered. On these pages you can now see parts of my research results. As well as on my own family and that of my husband I have also done some general work on the history of "Griese Gegend" area, a region in southwest Mecklenburg.

Just click at the state or family names. There you will find lists of names, pedigrees, information about special villages and regions etc.

Thank you very much to my friends in USA, Australia and England who helped me with the translation. Inge, Karen, Noel and Rudy, you did a great job!
