JOHANN Jürgen Dubbe
b. 1837 in Göhlen (son of Hauswirt farmer Jochen Christian Dubbe and Catharina Maria Timmermann, Göhlen, farm # 7, after abt. 1836 Einwohner)
d. 1915 in Glencoe, McLeod Co., Minnesota, USA
Johann Dubbe was the sixth of eight children. His father was farmer on farm #7 which he left (or had to leave) to his youngest brother. After this he lived as Einwohner in Göhlen. Johann's oldest brother tried to get back his parental farm in 1852 but he failed. So it is not astonishing that Johann (and maybe more of his siblings) went to America.
He reached New York on ship "Saxonia" on June 14th, 1864. We find him in Glencoe in 1880 where he lived as a labourer. He stayed there until his death and was never married.
Ich danke George Williams für die Informationen zur Auswanderung.
